Mark Peco is an experienced consultant, educator, manager and analyst with graduate and undergraduate degrees in engineering from the University of Waterloo. He has led numerous consulting projects helping clients adapt to fundamental shifts in their business models and requirements. He holds professional designations as an Engineer and as a Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP). Mark has worked extensively in the energy industry and has particular expertise in the pipeline, storage and distribution sectors. He understands the business context, operational challenges and information management opportunities available to help management obtain enhanced business performance levels. As a faculty member of TDWI, Mark teaches companies on a global basis about the challenges, opportunities and risks associated with implementing “intelligent” business solutions based on principles of data analytics. As a faculty member of eLearningCurve, he has published and delivers on-line courses on topics related to Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Analytics. Mark’s professional focus remains at the intersection of business, operations and analytics, primarily in the energy industry. He maintains strong research interests in how analytics opportunities can be identified, framed and implemented within the energy sector to help companies improve their safety, growth and operational performance.
